Choose carefully…

Congrats to all of you who got what you deserved for your O’s! Now it’s crunch time, the all-important JAE week.
We spoke to some poly seniors and here are tips that they’d like to share with you:
- When you choose a course, make sure you have the interest to sustain you for three years
- Evaluate on your strengths and interests. Don’t just listen to what others had to say about the courses and the schools
- Choose a course which you know you’ll be interested in. It helps if you have a rough idea of what you want to do in the future
- Use the COP only as a guide
- Don’t rule out a course if your ELR2B2 is lower than the previous year’s COP.
- Use your 12 choices wisely and realistically
- Rank your choices by course/institution
- Include a course that you stand a good chance of gaining acceptance
- Remember that applicants may not always get what they want:
- About 50% will get their first-choice course
- About 75% will get a course within their first three choices
- Study what you like. Or like what you study.
Good luck and may the force be with you!
